Now THIS was my decade! I remember watching the queen's coronation as a girl! We crowded around a small television set in a neighbour's front room. Of course there was no colour then. I remember getting a 2-ounce chocolate bar for my birthday before the end of sweet rationing! We played games in the street with the boys, everything was so much simpler before health and safety :)

I was just a young girl in the late 50s so I don't remember the era too well, but I do recall very vividly watching a cartoon in black and white on our first TV set and being absolutely entranced! Is this in the UK BobbiBee? Your Queen is still on the throne currently if I'm right, she's lasted wonderfully well

I loved growing up in the 50's, so many happy times playing hopscotch and jump-rope in the street with the boys. Do kids still play outside in the street these days?? I only seem to see them glued to their screens these days. Even my own GrandKids love their ipad!

As someone who spends a lot of time sat in front of the box, and has always loved doing so, it brings me great joy reminiscing about shows from the past. What shows did y'all used to watch and love??
